How it all began
The 9-5 Routine
My story begins with my first corporate job in Trivandrum, Kerala.
As I became financially independent for the first time in my life, I looked forward to working in the corporate sector. I focused all my time and energy on learning new skills on the job and giving my best.
But as time passed by, I realized I couldn’t carry on with my monotonous desk job. I was spending 80% of my life in a career that didn’t interest me.
Truth be told, I was in it for the money. Because, at the end of the day, you’ve got to pay your bills, right?
But at the same time, I simply couldn’t envision living a life where I’m forcing myself to do a job for the sake of earning money. I yearned for MORE.
The last thing I wanted was to have regrets twenty years down the line for not pursuing the things that I was really passionate about. Because life happens only once. So you’ve got to live it to the fullest!
It was during this time that I was having an existential crisis as well. I wanted to pretend that everything was fine when in reality, it wasn’t.
So I started asking myself:
“Is this it?”
“Was this the whole point of being told to study hard in school and college?”
“Has this been the purpose of my life?”
Enough was enough! It was time to take matters into my own hands.
My life, so far, had been programmed according to societal expectations. And look where it got me!
I wanted to live my life on my own terms henceforth and be responsible for myself. It was after this point that I planned my first-ever solo trip to Chikmagalur to take a break and get some perspective in my life.
This trip turned out to be a game-changer.
After this trip, I started travelling at least once every month across India while doing my full-time corporate job. It made me the person that I am today and I have finally quit my corporate job to pursue my travel dreams.
My Travel Experience
I have experience of three years in the corporate sector but more importantly, I was able to travel extensively around India along with my job during this time. Be it trekking in the Himalayas, scuba diving in the Andamans or doing a solo trip across Karnataka, I have done a variety of trips.
I’m a true nature lover. I love beaches, mountains, deserts, forests and whatever you could think of. But if I had to choose one, it would be the mountains any day. 😎
I prefer slow travel over any other form of travel as it helps me immerse myself in my surroundings completely.
In terms of my speciality, I am an experiential traveller.
I love to meet people – locals and travellers alike, learn about the different cultures or the ways of life, experiment with different cuisines, enjoy the sceneries Mother Nature has to offer and increase my awareness about the world around me.
In short, I live for experiences that make me feel alive and add meaning to my life.
Outside travel:
I love football. I’ve been a die-hard Chelsea fan since God knows when! 😛
I’m a food lover. I can travel long distances just to have my favourite food. 😉
I read books on self-help, philosophy and psychology that help me increase my knowledge and perspective on various things in life. 💡
What You Can Expect
After having travelled to more than 15 states/union territories in India with more than 50 experiences in under 3 years, I have finally decided to start this travel blog.
The reason:
I want to help you have more experiential and immersive travel adventures in India.
I have realized that a lot of people, especially those that are in a 9-5 job, live a very monotonous life. They rarely take a break and travel somewhere or even if they want to, they’re not sure about where to go, what to expect or how to go about their travel adventures.
Not so long ago, I too was one of them before I started learning first-hand from my travel experiences.
And now that I have come this far, I can confidently testify that if I can have life-changing experiences through travel, so can YOU!
Through this blog, I combine my love for adventures and photography and share with you my travel guides and experiences on the road. I hope to inspire you to go out of your comfort zone and make you realize how beautiful travel really is if you do it the right way.
So hop along and join me on this blog as I show you how to have more experiential and immersive travel adventures in India.
Twenty years from now, I want my future self to thank me for the life that I lived instead of having regrets for not following my heart. This is what motivates me to go out of my comfort zone, travel to new places and seek new adventures and experiences.
